The Tell Tale Heart, Ted Parmelee -UPA, 1954

Eerie retelling of Edgar Allen Poe's story from UPA studios. Narrated by James Mason.

  1. I'd wanted to see this ever since I was a kid reading Famous Monsters of Filmland, as they sold a silent 8 mm version in their "Captain Company" ads (the same ones that listed "adorable" squirrel monkeys). Finally caught up with it in the 90s. Did Parmelee do anything else of note?

  2. Oh, not really. He only directed this obscure little show called ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE, but I don't know if you've ever heard of it.

He also directed some other shorts for UPA, that I might post later.
