Bun Whoopee Cushion, Dave Packer, 2015
A few days ago, I was in an aggressively awful funk. I had spent, nay, wasted, too much time, talking to overly serious people about overly serious things. People who were very convinced of their rightness, and convinced that their seriousness made them smarter and more important than they actually were.
This was not true at all. However, pointing that out to them would have been unnecessarily escalatory and entirely unproductive. So, rather than pointing out that serious does not equal important or intelligent, I backed away quietly and made my way to better places, where people remember that little things and funny things are important, too.
In that darkest of times, I saw this on Twitter, and it was exactly what I needed, distilled to its very essence.
Thank you, Dave from Sheepfilms. This is perfection.

Knorsong: Fopje Flauw Mopje
Roughly translated: "dumb joke." From the Belgian show Big en Betsy.
I am not posting this because it is of particular historical relevance, or because the animation is dazzling.
I am posting it because there is not any way a person can watch this and be bummed out. Because farts are funny. Even if you are too high and mighty to admit it, you think farts are funny. If you do not think farts are funny, you are cold and dead inside. Nobody likes you because you are no fun to be around at all.
