Sensology, Michel Gagne, 2010

Sensology is a short animated film by Michel Gagné that visualizes in abstract form, an improvised musical session by two leaders of the avant-guarde jazz movement, Paul Plimley (piano) and Barry Guy (bass). The music was recorded on November 9th, 1995, at the Western Front in Vancouver, Canada

To me, it brings to mind the work of Norman McLaren.

It's also on the short list of possible Academy Award nominees. Good luck!

Train of Thought, Leo Bridle and Ben Thomas, 2010

Train of Thought is Leo Bridle and Ben Thomas's graduation film from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth.

Although we used digital compositing software, all the animation and models were done by hand, not with CGI. The film took approximately 9 months to complete, from storyboards through to the final edit.
