Protect and Survive, Richard Taylor, 1976
The Protect and Survive series was part of a larger British civil defense program in the 1970s and 1980s that also included pamphlets and radio programs.
The series was considered classified material that was intended for transmission on all television channels only if the government determined that nuclear attack was likely within 72 hours, although recordings were leaked to organisations like CND and press organisations like the BBC, who broadcast it on Panorama as a discussion of public affairs. (Wikipedia)
Fortunately, their efficacy was never put to the test, but they did capture the nation's imagination, and by that I mean they SCARED THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF EVERYONE. They were thus influential in popular culture.
